Just been at the meeting, was really good. Andy didn't lose his job at the hearing, he got a 1 year (not final) warning. There is an appeal tomorrow, strike dates and the wednesday demo depending on the result of that.

So the demo and strike ballot will be going ahead if the warning is upheld?

Good luck with the appeal smile

I think it depends on the exact result - but we'll know for sure tomorrow.

His warning was 'suspended' at the appeal, so looks like there will be no need for strike action.

The Shop Stewards Network demonstration against the victimisation of RMT Metronet rep Andy Littlechild for tomorrow 1pm outside Metronet Head Office in Holborn – London has been cancelled.

This is due to the company’s dramatic last minute climb down, where at his disciplinary on Monday they drew back from their plans to sack Andy on 4 (bogus) counts of GROSS MISCONDUCT, and only gave him a written warning for a year, and today (Tuesday) even further reduced the sanction to “a suspended warning” at a snap appeal held less the 24 hours after the disciplinary hearing!

As has been leaked by Metronet, Andy was supposed to be sacked on Monday, the only reason that this did not occur was because of the ground swell of anger from Metronet workers and the growing support that his campaign was getting from Metronet employees, sub contractors, other tube workers on LUL/TfL and beyond in the wider trade union movement, from left groups and workers organisations.

The brief period of management’s power to hold Andy as a hostage came to and end, as a massive army began to amass at their door, and the figure of Wednesday’s RMT Metronet strike ballot result and its consequences for London began to hit home to the company!

The knowledge of the demonstration on Wednesday too has had an effect on the situation, and the Shop Stewards Network would like to thank you for all for the support you have given the campaign for Andy’s reinstatement.

Please circulate this widely so that comrades don’t make a needless journey to Holborn tomorrow!
