Is it true that prods are less prone to banter....
Religious banter should be encourage in the north?
In all seriousness, I think the report is confirms what many of us already know. One of the problems in our unique society is that people are less open and willing to exchange view which is probably where the report comes in.
In my workplace at the moment there are too many glentoran fans unfortunately but banter is generally good especially when there are a few celtic fans

The fact that it has Let The People Sing plastered across the top of the screen means its really unbiased then?? I wish George Galloway would get killed by Ranger fans. Or by anyone.

Yeah Bobby all Rangers fans are bigots and you're not a fucking moron. Just like all Celtic fans are avid IRA fanatics. You are a jingoistic tit.
Once Celtic fans such as Galloway realise that singing songs about the IRA's war of attrition is bigotry in the same way that singing the Famine song is bigoted and offensive then there might be a glint of hope for humanity.

Yeah, cos me, notch8 and other prods in Organise! NEVER engage in banter as you should know cos you know us. No prods I ever worked with engaged in banter, ever, especially not banter with taigs they worked with. Wouldn't even go for a pint with those fenian bastards. Y'know, what with us all being bigoted Rangers fans. Never, ever saw Rangers fans drink with Celtic fans.
While banter in the workplace isnae a bad thing sitting watching that with another Celtic fan at work just makes yer Rangers supporting workmates conclude youse are both bigoted fuckwits.
Seriously though this makes me want to become a fucking Rangers fan.

Please note Boul it was a question(but just forgot to add question mark) rather than something I actually believe in. You would be welcome to join Rangers and finally nail your colours to the mast

Belfast Telegraph
Northern Ireland’s religious divide has often proven a minefield when it comes to engaging in a spot of workplace banter.
But a team of local academics are now saying that light-hearted ribbing about community backgrounds is actually a good way to form relationships with colleagues.
The authors of the Learning To Deal With Difference report from the University of Ulster interviewed a total of 81 workers in 10 organisations in Belfast about their attitude to banter, with particular focus on employees who came from interface areas.
"Our research revealed that banter, which included references to one's community background, was a potentially very useful communication practice in many organisations, in facilitating and easing relationships,” said Professor Owen Hargie, one of the authors of the report.
However, Damon Quinn, a member of local comedy group The Hole in the Wall Gang, said the nature of such banter depended on its context.
“I used to be a lawyer and this would have been presented as a defence when I was taking cases, that sectarian comments were just a bit of a joke,” he said.
“The tribunals took a fairly dim view of it because if someone said they were offended by it you’d have to take your victim as you find them.
“On the other hand, when we came to write Give My Head Peace we took the view that you should confront sectarianism head on. Once you get over that, the insults are lost.”
One of the other authors Dr Aodheen O'Donnell added: "The findings from our research show that steps need to be taken by organisations to make the induction and the handbook more relevant to the needs of new members of staff. In particular, the induction process needs to address more directly aspects of cross-community difference".
