Joining the IWW in Britain

Submitted by dublin dave on 16 July, 2008 - 09:26.

Hi, I sent off an application form and a checque for dues to the Newcastle PO Box number. I've heard nothing back in 4 weeks. Is there a problem in BIROC in processing applications? I sent an e-mail to rocsec@iww.org.uk following this up and haven't heard anything back... How hard is it to join the IWW!?
Respect,
Dave

hi dave, it usually takes about a month, and sometimes a little longer, to turn it around. in an amusing accident of geography, our main HQ/PO-Box is in Newcastle, our supply depot is in Glasgow, and our national secretary is in London. this means that at the moment it takes a while to process applications through the post. but don't worry, you'll get it soon, i'm sure!

Also, we've recently had a change of Treasurer and elected a Membership Secretary, which has affected the way postal applications are processed. Hopefully all will be running like clockwork soon.

It's actually funny how long I've been waiting on my membership pack...

good things come to those who wait wink

but seriously - anyone else intersted in joining the IWW, don't do it by post if you can help it - find your nearest branch and join up at a meeting
