Budryk unionists face repression

Some of you may remember that I was writing here about the strike in the Budryk mine in Poland. The company claimed that the strike was illegal. The leaders of the unions which organized the strike could face very serious charges indeed if a court maintained the strike was indeed illegal - and this just happened on Friday. This is a very bad precendent indeed as the bosses are trying to punish strikes and even make them illegal in Poland, and will now try to hold these people liable for things like the financial losses incurred duing the strike. On top of this problem, one of the unionists is being charged with "inciting to deprive the director of the mine of his freedom", which is something like inciting to kidnapping. This same person will probably get some other serious charges as well. It all looks pretty grim. Will keep people informed as the case develops.
