Portsmouth Anarchist Collective public meeting
Hello there!
I'm from the Portsmouth Anarchist Collective and I'm here to advertise our first public meeting if anyone wants to come along.
The meeting is at 9pm on thursday 11th June at The Deco pub on Elm Grove in Southsea.
We've been meeting for a little while now, just not publicly. We've been involved in various protests nationally (G20, Smash EDO riot and trying to citizens arrest MPs outside of Parliament) but would like to start campaigning locally.
This is why we are now meeting publicly, to develop a solid activist base and create a local presence.
We have a small pamphlet/book stall aswell if you would like to help out flogging books at gigs and events.
If you miss the date of the public meeting then we're meeting every 2nd and 4th thursday at The Deco if you're interested.

Cheers,

Sorry Eddie - can you send your address to me again. I've done something aggravating to my computer
Hobnail Press has a number of anarchist/libertarian communist pamphlets. If you are interested I can send you a few samples. PM me ur address.
Plus AK press carry vast amounts of pamphlets, magazines and books. There's also active distribution in London who can supply you with pamphlets and the like.
Best of luck, please feel free to post updates about your activity to our forums here.
How'd it go?
Bump?
Aha! Sorry for the belated update.
The meeting went well, it was a while back so I can't remember what was discussed. It's in the minutes somewhere.
About 6 people came along for the first meeting and now we meet twice a month at the Deco (the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month) with a regular turnout of about 7 or 8 people.
There's plans to put pressure on Peter Viggers (MP for Gosport) to stand down and we were recently at the Vestas factory handing out various bits of propaganda (Resistance, Catalyst, etc.).
Aha! Sorry for the belated update.
No worries, sounds like you've been busy.

What's this about?
Viggers is the long standing MP for Gosport Borough. I think that he may be the longest "serving" MP in the House of Commons. He was there in 1977 when we had a school trip up there. It has come to light recently that this particular piggy has had his snout rather deeper in the trough than the others. He, at our expense, has had himself a house built for the ducks that live on a pond in the garden of his Titchfield estate. He has his fingers in several pies, many concerned with the armanents industry. Gosport has become a shithole in the years he has been MP, with terrible infrastructure, higher than regional average unemployment, and a growing drug problem ( 2 have been killed by a London drug gang only last month). The Luftwaffe did less damage to the town than the local politicians have the past 60 years. Viggers is symptomatic of the kind of scum who gets and holds on to power, through schmoozing around yacht clubs, Freemasons halls, ex-servicemen associations in these kind of garrison towns. If you like charity shops, check out Gosport High Street....there ain't much else.
bamp. Just a heads up to contact either Rowner Eddie or myself if you'd like to come along - we have changed venue (so we could hear ourselves over the 80s hits being blared) so we can give you dates, times and directions.

The AF can send you free stuff for stalls - stickers and resistance, plus we're sorting out some CDs and of course we have pamphlets too. Drop me an email at: publications[at]afed.org.uk
