Hi, does anyone know of any groups in the UK that have occupied areas of land and are using them to promote environmentalism, permaculture and organic growing?

I would be really interested in getting involved with something like this but there doesn't seem to be much information about on the subject.

Could you please sign my petition and pass it on? I worked for Liverpool City Council for over 20 years and had to resign due to Bullying and Oppressive behaviour by management. I have launched a campaign for a change in the law in relation to workplace bullying investigations.

I've not been involved with organising them, so don't ask me any questions! I just thought they looked excellent so wanted to help publicise them.

Does anyone have any insight on this? It almost sounds like the strike was impromptu and indefinite...how often does that happen nowadays in the UK?

We are planning to set up two groups in Kent - one covering the Thanet area and the other Medway towns up to Gravesend/Dartford and across Maidstone (meetings for this group probably to be held in Rochester).

The Solidarity Federation will be having its London Solidarity Federation Social on Thursday 2nd Oct at the Rose and Crown, 47 Colombo St SE1 near Waterloo after 7.30pm.(Thereafter on the first Thursday of the month expect Jan on the 2nd Thurs) with members from both London locals plus friends and comrades.

Hands Off the People of Iran will debate Campaign Iran at the Convention of the Left

The debate will take place on the 24th September at 3.30pm at the Friends Meeting House

It is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

I'm moving down to Goldsmiths in September to do a Masters and i was interested in getting back into the swing of things. Are there any groups around the area that might be worth looking at? Are there any libcomers at or going to Canterbury University? Kent Anarchists want to do a stall during their freshers week but none of us are students there - wondered if any one here could help. Thanks.

The Kent Anarchist Group continues to grow and meet (pretty much) monthly.

We now have 'members' from Gravesend to Broardstairs via Maidstone, Swale, Canterbury, Thanet and Ashford. We are currently looking at setting up a social centre in Kent as a focus for anarchists, anti capitalists and general trouble makers!
