Racism at work

I've been at work for about 6 weeks and one of my colleagues has started using more and more racist language and making racists comments; I have a feeling he was be careful with what he said for the first few weeks I was there. The boss and the other workers either turn a blind eye to what he's saying or seem to agree with it.

ASSI?

In the CNT-Vignoles congrees report,
http://libcom.org/forums/news/30th-congress-cnt-france-consolidate-international-solidarity-05102008 I saw mention of the Spanish group ASSI (Acción Social y Sindical Internacionalista). I've not heard of them before and see they a new (founded in May 2008).

Looking to meet Anarchists in London

Hey all,

I'm spending a semester in London and would be interested in meeting red anarchists. I used to be active in NEFAC (and will be again I hope) so that is basically my politics. I visited Freedom today to offer em a hand but I would love to learn about other projects going on with what time I have. drop me a pm if any of this is of interest.

What happen in Thailand ?

According the news, the airports but also the train workers are stiking today to support the demonstration against the governement, but, according the news too, this demonstrations are organised by royalists...

In the airports, the union called to the strike because "the governement attacked people". Are some unions in Thailand rulled by royalists ?

Denmark: Interesting article about the Ungdomshus-movement

This interview I find very good. Mikkel Bolt got some good points, does anyone know if he is active in any group or publication?

Do you know any Indian communists?

Do you know any Indian communists? I'm communist from Russia (Moscow) and i want to make acquaintance with them.

Kropotkin Museum Appeal

I suppose that some of you may not be interested in museums, but the authorities are fucking around with the Kropotkin museum. It's been bad since Khokhlov died. All the material he gathered became state property. Some comrades in Russia have asked people to write lettters telling them to get their act together and get the Kropotkin museum open. There is a link here, with a sample letter.

Sweden - Seamen strike in Stockholm

I found one campaign hompage regarding an ongoing conflict with seamen in Stockholm local of SAC vs Ånedinlinjen that is also in english!

British Trotskyism

Ever since I became active in the 1970s, I've always wondered why the UK seems to have a high density of trotskyists? It seems like there are more active trotskyist groupings and parties with actual memberships in the UK than elsewhere. Can anyone speculate as why (aside from the fact they always splinter and fracture)?

Rising Tide

I feel that this is important since ecological issues are often put on the back burner.

What is Rising Tide?

Labour Court, again

So we got the result of one of our longest trial at labour court in Rennes (by that I mean a case defended by the CNT-F). Almost to years and it went up to appeal court. The worker we defended won. We won.

Interview with Solidaridad Obrera

There's an interesting interview (in Spanish) with members of Solidaridad Obrera at
http://www.alasbarricadas.org/noticias/?q=node/7514
Topics covered include the Madrid Metro cleaners strike, the split that led to the formation of the SUT, relations with the CNT and CGT, and the possibilities of the anarcho-syndicalist unions working together.
