On Tuesday 25th November ID Biometric ID cards will come into force for non-EU students and spouses and will be issued from UK Border Agency offices. At 12 noon groups and individuals opposing ID cards will be protesting outside each UKBA centre.

I'm looking to put together some writing which will look at sexuality and gender from a libertarian communist perspective. I'm looking to criticise the idea that heterosexism is essential to capitalism, and the correlary argument that there is an essentially critical content to dissident/minority sexuality.

I would just like to remind people that today (November 11th) is the 121st anniversary of the execution of the Haymarket Martyrs in 1887. Anarchists wore black ribbons to commemorate the day, in the years following the executions. They should be remembered the world over. Is anyone doing anything, public meetings, social events, and such like?

Reading some contributions on the Sheridan/IWW dispute thread, I noticed some people seem to think that the Anti-Poll-Tax movement 'brought down the fascist Thatcher regime"?

Does anyone really defend this?

1 - was the Thatcher regime fascist?
2 - was it brought down by the Anti-Poll-Tax movement?
3 - was it brought down at all?

Just some pretty fundamental questions of analysis...
